Scope and execution

The Policy Rule on the Scope and Execution of the DGS further specifies policy rules on aspects (i) for which the national rules give DNB discretionary power or (ii) that warrant further clarification. DNB may supplement the Policy Rule with other DGS-related provisions in the future

Escrow accounts and other potential special situations

The policy rule specifies how to deal with escrow accounts and similar situations. Banks need this information to compile the Single Customer View (SCV). The Policy Rule also contains more detailed explanations of the ranking of eligible deposits and how we will deal with temporary high balances, structured deposits, and customers holding deposits in different countries.

Version overview

DNB published the Policy Rule in 2017 and issued amended versions in February 2019, October 2021 and December 2022. The recent consolidated version of the Policy Rule is available in the Government Gazette (in Dutch). DNB also published a new version of the consolidated document ‘DGS Policy Rules for Banks’.

The rounds of amendments include transitional periods. Future audit reports must be based in part on previous versions of the SCV Policy Rule. Below is an overview of relevant versions of the document Policy Rules for the DGS for banks.
