What does the API do?

The new API allows you to automatically retrieve datasets from DNB Statistics. This means you no longer need to download updated tables or update your own files when new figures have been released. The API allows you to update the data automatically in your own application.

Why did we create the API?

The launch of the Statistics API is one of the improvements we are introducing to meet user needs. DNB is committed to making data as accessible as possible, and providing automatic access through an API is a key part of this.

What data are available?

More than 230 current datasets are available in the statistics section of our website. We have now made the English-language versions of 11 commonly used datasets available through the Statistics API. Most of the remaining datasets will be made available over the course of 2024, in order of popularity. We will not make some of the current supervisory data on pension funds available in 2024 as we expect to make major changes to the structures of these datasets due to the Future of Pensions Act (Wet Toekomst Pensioenen).

Where can I find the API?

To view the technical documentation of the DNB Statistics API and create a subscription to use it, register at My DNB. Log in using an eHerkenning account that you may already use for My DNB or create a new My DNB account. Then navigate to DNB API Services.

How does the API work?

Under ‘DNB API Services’ and 'Starter’s Guide', you will find more information about using DNB's public APIs and their terms of use. Under 'APIs', you will find the 'DNB Statistics API' and the technical documentation for each available dataset.
