Hendrik Jan Biemond

Hendrik Jan Biemond is a deputy justice at the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal and advisor to the board of Pon Holdings. He is also a member of the supervisory board of the Holland Festival and chair of Stichting Bureau Vergezicht.

De Gaay Fortman stepped down as a Supervisory Board member after two terms of office. She was also a member of the Supervision Committee and the Remuneration and Appointments Committee.

Martin van Rijn, chair of the Supervisory Board, addresses both. “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Hendrik Jan Biemond. With his arrival, legal expertise remains strongly represented on DNB’s Supervisory Board. Hendrik Jan Biemond also possesses vast knowledge and experience in the financial sector. As a lawyer and partner at Allen & Overy, he has assisted major financial institutions in areas including compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme – Wwft) and conduct supervision. He has also served as a prosecutor at the National Office for Serious Fraud, Environmental Crime and Asset Confiscation in Amsterdam.”

“We would like to thank Marry very much for her commitment, dedication and loyalty to DNB over the past eight years. As a member of the Supervision Committee, she used her insight and critical thinking to help DNB strengthen its supervision of the financial sector. In her role as a member of the Remuneration and Appointments Committee, she made a vital contribution to the continuity and stability of DNB’s Executive Board thanks to her expertise in governance. Finally, she played an important role as the Supervisory Board’s permanent contact for the Employees council.”
