Money collection
De Nederlandsche Bank manages the largest money collection of the Netherlands. The collection comprises some 400,000 objects. These include coins, banknotes, medals, non-Western means of payment, die stamps, coin weights, and an extensive library. This collection is known as the National Numismatic Collection.
Building and sharing knowledge
DNB manages the National Numismatic Collection, but is not the sole owner of all objects. There are more owners, including the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. As part of our national cultural heritage, the National Numismatic Collection belongs to all of us. DNB also manages the NUMIS database and conducts research. De Nederlandsche Bank participates in various projects and contributes to national and international databases. The aim is to build and share knowledge.
