DNB has reviewed the identification and buffer requirements for systemically important banks and maintains the current requirements. As a result, the following Other Systemically Important Institutions (O-SII) buffers remain applicable: ING (2%), Rabobank (1.75%), ABN AMRO Bank (1.25%),  BNG (0.25%) and de Volksbank (0.25%).

For the Global Systemically Important Institutions (G-SII) and Other Systemically Important Institutions (O-SII)  at least annually a review takes place. Following this review, the same institutions are designated as O-SII in The Netherlands, for which DNB maintains the following O-SII buffer requirements: ING (2%), Rabobank (1.75%), ABN AMRO Bank (1.25%), BNG (0.25%) and de Volksbank (0.25%).

Again ING has been identified as a global systemically important institution (G-SII). The G-SII  buffer applicable to ING will not affect ING's risk-weighted capital requirement, as the aforementioned O-SII buffer for ING is higher and the highest of these two buffers applies. Every year, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB) publish the methodology for identifying G-SII's (or G-SIBs) and the annual outcomes.

The next review of the GSII and OSII requirements is planned to take place in 2025.
