This dashboard presents a few indicators related to the structure of the Dutch banking system: the number of banks broken down into domestically owned banks and foreign banks with their corresponding balance sheet totals. It also includes indicators showing concentration levels in the Dutch banking sector. Bank restructurings and takeovers of banks by other parties have an impact on the concentration indicators in the charts.
After almost two decades of contraction, outstanding Dutch securitisations sold to investors increased substantially in 2024, new figures from DNB show. Net growth was €3.1 billion (12%) to €29.2 billion, still considerably less than 20 years ago.

On 31 May 2023, DNB announced an increase of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) to 2%. Banks with loans outstanding in the Netherlands must comply with this requirement since 31 May 2024.
